Cornish culture showcased at the Fal River Festival

Printer friendly page

One of Cornwall’s most exciting and wide-ranging festivals is to return in May with a series of events on and around the picturesque River Fal.  The Fal River Festival, launched last year, takes place over two weeks, starting on Friday 25 May.

A variety of events, from art, drama and food to sport and nature will take place from the county capital of Truro in the north to the port of Falmouth in the south.

Sail Cornwall will be offering learn to sail courses, while a series of Maritime History cruises down the Fal will run as part of the Festival.  Events are also taking place in some of Cornwall’s most striking venues, including the waterfront National Maritime Museum, the 16th Century Pendennis Castle used to defend the Fal’s entrance, and the National Trust’s Trelissick Gardens.

The Fal River Festival runs from 25 May until 10 June.
