Coast Along for WaterAid
The fifth Coast Along will take place on Saturday 10 September 2011.
Millions of people around the world have no choice but to walk for hours every day to collect essential water for themselves and their families. This water is often dirty and causes deadly diseases.
Help us to transform lives by taking part in Coast Along for WaterAid, our national sponsored walking event. This year, Coast Along is bigger and better than ever and now includes over 200 sections of coastal path.
For the first time, we have included the Isle of Wight, Lyn Peninsular, Gower Coast, Sutton and Heath and many more paths so don't miss out! To complete the challenge we are aiming to have at least one team of walkers (min 2 walkers) on each section of path on the 10 September but we need your help to make this happen. So why not take this opportunity to spend time with your friends, family or work colleagues and take in the beauty of Britain's Coastline whilst raising vital funds for WaterAid.
The scenery is spectacular, the heritage rich and varied, the beaches and coves inviting and the cliffs inspiring so you are guaranteed a fantastic day out. The sections are between 4 and 15 miles in length. Each section is graded as easy, moderate, strenuous or severe so you can choose a path that suits your level of fitness. There is something for everybody: for families, ramblers, long distance walkers and even marathon runners! Some of the paths are suitable for use by wheelchairs and buggies.
