LUNCHTIME LECTURE - Hidden Depths: Women of the RNLI

Printer friendly page

28 Mar, 6.30pm

Sue Hennessy reveals the vital role women have played in thousands of RNLI rescues, from its inception to the present day.  In the early years women were involved in the dangerous tasks of launching and recovering lifeboats, but it wasn't until 1969 that the first women crew members were accepted.  Learn how the organisation has grown and developed so that women are now involved in all aspects of the charity's work.
