Hicks & Sons Boat Hire operate the passenger launches Seahorse (MCA Class VI & VIA up to 100 passengers) and Swordfish (MCA NDP code 12 passengers). Steve Hicks is qualified to Class I Deck Officer (Master Mariner) in the Merchant Navy and is one of the two pilots for the Isles of Scilly. The Seahorse operates as part of the St Mary’s Boatmen’s Association through the summer season providing passenger excursion and ferry services within the islands. Other marine services and hires can be provided where required, subject to negotiation. Examples of services previously provided are water-taxi, mail services, lighthouse tender, personnel transfer, freight carriage, escort vessel.
