Cornwall Marine Network (CMN) has published its 2007 Cornwall Marine Guide and Directory, building on the success of last year’s pilot issue for the county’s £120 million marine industry.

It is the biggest and most comprehensive guide ever created for the industry and mirrors CMN’s new website (www.cornwallmarine.com), which is designed to be the ultimate guide to getting in, on or under the water.main_directory

Since publication of its first guide a year ago, CMN membership has risen by 50 per cent to its present level of 227 companies.

“We have listened to the responses that our debut directory produced,” writes chief executive Alan Shepherd in a forward to the new 96-page publication.

“While retaining the general format, we have made small changes to categories and general information which should ensure a clear, enjoyable and above all informative guide.”

He adds: “Our intention is to provide a guide which will help you get the most from our marine businesses, whether you are a boat owner, business user or complete water novice.

“Cornwall has a world-class marine sector, producing everything from millionaires’ superyachts to traditional hand-crafted wooden boats . . . Thousands of people work directly in the marine world and thousands of others depend indirectly on its continued success.”

With a 20,000 print run, the new publication comprehensively lists the products and services supplied by CMN’s member companies, catering for members, all marine businesses, local and visiting boat owners and other visitors to Cornwall alike.

Contents also include other useful contacts, tide tables, information on harbour and estuary speed limits, contact information for weather/shipping forecasts and the Beaufort Scale plus a special “Sea Sense” feature by HM Coastguard and the RNLI.

CMN members together offer a vast range of specialist marine products and services to boat owners, suppliers, associated businesses, visitors and all who are drawn to Cornwall’s unique environment – which hosts upto 45,000 visiting yacht nights every year.
