Seafood Cornwall Training Ltd, the region's dedicated fish industry training school was set up as a "not for profit" company by industry representatives in 2009, following the success of the Cornwall Fisheries Resource Centre Project 2004-2008. Based in Newlyn at
the heart of Cornwall's Fish Industry, the training school delivers basic
safety courses, including STCW 95 Basic
Safety courses and further training for fishermen, as well as skills training for fish processors, fishmongers and employees from other sectors working with seafood. All trainers are Seafish approved and courses can be delivered across the county.
