Falmouth Harbour, including the Carrick Roads, is reputed to be the third largest natural harbour in the world. Falmouth Harbour Commissioners are a Statutory Port Authority responsible for the Inner Harbour (excluding Falmouth Docks), the Penryn River as far as Coastlines Wharf and a significant part of Falmouth Bay. FHC operates as a Trust Port and is responsible for the safe management of the harbour area and facilities, provision of pilotage, reporting and recording shipping movements, maintaining effective pollution and emergency preparedness, regulation and enforcement of Harbour Bylaws and General Directions.
Falmouth Pilot Services is a service arm of Falmouth Harbour Commissioners, responsible for the provision of safe and efficient Pilotage to the Falmouth Pilotage area. www.falmouthpilotservices.co.uk
